I've got to say that BLJ is fortunate enough to have received so many great works for its first issue. Space is limited, and so is my time for the editing work. Thus, if you don't see your submitted work appear in the inaugural issue, as long as the 3-month period hasn't passed, your work is still being considered for the next issue. Perhaps after the release of the first book online, you will have a better idea about our taste and more right pieces will come our way. Before I go to bed (it's quite late on this side now), I just want to share with you this panorama I took from the mountains when I visited the Cingjing Farm in Taichung (Taiwan) with my colleagues two weeks ago... I wish this brings happy energy to everyone. 2015 is gonna be another bright and refreshing year for you and me!
Pete Just finished a Taiwan trip with colleagues on a staff development tour. We spent 4 days at Taichung and it was a very nice place for tourists. Now I have returned to Hong Kong and am ready to continue with school work and the BLJ work. My hope is to have our first issue released in Feb and I think it can be done. Christmas is coming. I wish all of you a very warm and delighted holiday!
Pete It's been a great week designing the tone of the magazine and the layout for the accepted pieces. I am amazed by the quality of the pieces taken and the variety of their styles and contexts. But they all have one thing in common: depth of meaning. I feel humble as a teacher of young students from Hong Kong taking the responsibility to manage the great pieces from many seasoned and well published writers from all around the world. The project is getting more and more exciting day after day. I wish I had started this much much earlier!
